Presentation of Alghero
Alghero is a charming city with a very interesting history, located in the North-West of Sardinia. It is also called “Riviera del Corallo”, for the presence of coral throughout the coast, a resource that made the city grow for centuries, both economically and culturally. As of today, Alghero counts 44000 permanent residents, although in the summertime, thanks to tourism and the presence of the airport, the population grows up until 100.000 people.
The city is also known as Barceloneta, the little Barcelona, because the population preserved the use of Catalan language.
